Transformers - Dry & Oil Insulated Distribution Transformers

At Lai Switchboards we offer the largest range and highest quality distribution transformers in the market. Thanks to our extensive experience and consultative approach we are able to provide the perfect transformer solution for a wide range of applications including mine sites, buildings, commercial infrastructure, hospitals and much more.

While we do offer a wide range of transformer brands to help with the implementation of a solution into a pre-existing design, as the official agent for the world leading Italian Tesar brand in Australia we are able to offer distribution dry cast resin and oil insulated transformers.

Key Features

  • Rated Voltage up to 33kV, 3150kVA. Higher kVA ratings up to 30MVA are available on request.
  • Designed, manufactured and type tested to IEC Standards in Tesar’s ISO 9001 certified factory in Italy.
  • Dry transformers can be supplied with integrated indoor enclosures up to IP31 rating.
  • Dry transformers come complete with a range of features including PT100 thermo resistors in each LV winding which can be connected to a temperature control relay with communication facility.  
  • Cooling fans can be installed on dry transformers to increase their ratings by up to 25%. HV/LV cable boxes are also available.
  • Oil insulated transformers are available with hermetically sealed tanks or with external conservators.
  • Oil used as a standard is PCB free high grade mineral oil. Option to provide bio-degradable vegetable oil is also available.
  • Monitoring of oil temperature and oil pressure is provided as a standard.
  • Both dry and oil transformers can be supplied in padmount substations complete with  HV and LV switchgear for outdoor use.
