LAI Switchboards were successful in supplying the switchboards for the Western Grandstand upgrade in 2009. So in 2011 when they decided to upgrade the entire oval, the $535 Million Adelaide Oval Redevelopment project saw the need to source a switchboard manufacturer with the capabilities of producing a quality product while keeping up with the timeframe of the project.
Switchboard designed and manufactured by LAI Switchboards consisted of :
- 4 x 4000 Amp Main Switchboards
- 4 x Power Factor Correction Switchboards
- 34 x Main Distribution Boards
- 34 x Essential Main Distribution Boards
- 120 x Distribution Boards
Space for C-Bus control was included in each distribution board, with the Electrical contractor pre-programming the C-Bus modules for LAI Switchboards to fit during the manufacturing phase, this ensured a fast on-site installation and commissioning period.
Along with the main oval redevelopment LAI Switchboards were also engaged to retro-fit the lighting tower switchboards to include C-Bus control, with the tight space inside the lighting tower and the requirement to have equipment changed over between cricket night games was a challenge however successfully executed by LAI Switchboards.
