Consolidated Power Projects
Supply of switchroom, Low Voltage Switchboards and protection Panels
Snowtown II wind farm is located 5km west of Snowtown in South Australia. Developed as an expansion to the 368.7MW Snowtown I wind farm, the $400m project became operational in June 2014. The wind farm is operated by TrustPower.
The 270MW Snowtown II wind farm generates 989GWh of electricity a year, which is sufficient to power 180,000 households, offsetting approximately 700,000t of greenhouse gas emissions a year. It will aid South Australia in achieving its 33% renewable energy target by 2020.
Lai Switchboards Australia was engaged by Consolidated power projects in 2013 to design and manufacture the main substation switchroom including the following.
Supply of 32m x 4.5m 2 hour fire rated switchroom complete with support structure & stairs/ landing.
Supply of protection and metering panels
Manufacture and supply of all filed marshalling panels.
Complete installation of free issued 33kv GIS Switchgear.
The project was successfully complete by Lai in 21 weeks from P.O, the success of the project is due to the strong working relationship that Lai has with CPP.
